Default hard start on bf650i

i have been having a hard time starting when i let my bike sit overnight or over 4 hours. after i finally get it to start and run it for few minutes, it will crank on the first turnover. i have put new jets in when i put hmf on. but i was wondering if it could be the valves. engine runs great after you finally get it goin.

My valves were too tight and caused hard starting at 1000 miles. It never hurts to check and adjust them.
I also have a weak fuel pump which is vacume operated on the 2006 650i. Try turning the fuel selector to prime next time before you start cranking. It gives a little more fuel pressure to the carbs.
These two things turned my almost impossible-to-start bike into a dependable ride.
