Best plow set up and where to get
Hey guys love the web site, Well I talked the old man into buying a brute and he loves it! His first machine and both of us are looking to install a snow plow set up. I have a 06 650 SRA with full skid plates and am planning on getting a cycle country plow for both machines. I was wondering if anyone knew if you can keep the skid plate on and still get the plow frame on the machine and also where the best place to get this would be as far as price/shipping. (Any site vendors carry this stuff?) I am going with the 54" blade if that makes a diff, also I have the richochet skids. Thanks you guys.

I have used both Cycle Country and I have a Moose. By far the Moose out performs the Cycle Country. It has a more agressive curve to it. My recommendation is, go with a tapered (or county style) design. They sling the snow to the side much better than the straight blades.
Depending on the mount plate, you very well may be able to attach the plate under the skids.
Check with your local atv dealers, shipping will be high if bought online. Buying 2 plows, I would think they would throw you a deal of some sort.

Thanks Boloiii, with the tapered plow it would seem as if you would always have to angle the plow the same way. Probley not a big deal but is this the case?

It does work in both directions. Of course, it does work better in the direction of the taper. A buddy of mine has one and I have seen it work much better than my straight one.

No problem modding the plate a little, but I would rather not have to pull the plate and reinstall every year. Thanks for the info guys, much appricated.

Best plow set up and where to get
Hey guys just a little update on the ablity to install a plow on a skid plate equipt 06' BF 650 SRA. I ended up ordering a warn plow kit and installing. I kind of wish I would have gone with the cycle country set up but I figured that my drive way is not a mile long and the tapered plow might be a little over kill. The warn kit is priced right though so I went with that. For the money good buy. All I had to do was to mock the plate up under the machine with some clamps and use the new plow mount plate as a template and drill through the skid plate. Total install time was 90 min. The supplied U-bolts worked for me but were a little tough to get started. I used the clamps to sinch down the mount plate to the skid plate to get it started without damaging the threads on the U-bolts.

I use rocky mountain alot. They were out of stock when I was looking to order. I ended up getting the set-up from 4wheelonline.com. The shipping was only about $20. There pricing was reasonable too.
