Rear brakes freeze up after bike sits in the cold. Has anyone else had this problem?

the brakes are sealed but if you got moisture in there it could of froze BUT what happened to me is that my cable from hand break to the rear brake, got water in it during the summer and when winter came it froze up I ended up getting my cable changed actually twice the first time I got it covered under warranty the second time it was already in the shop for some other warranty work and it only cost about 40 bucks put on.

Didn't we just talk about this on another thread VT?

Cables, water...water in cables...freezing weather. Sound familier.

If you do a little looking around on ATVNation.com you'll find an excellent write up by either Lars or Ostie about how to clean and lube the cables so it won't happen anymore. Or at least drop the odds of it happening.

I get around it by NEVER leaving the hand brake set when it's going to get real cold. I can live with the cable frozen in the "off" position, but not in the "on" position.

The cable is not frozen, it moves freely. Both cables are fine, foot and hand.
