Default How to wire a winch on a brute?

I ordered me a winch for my 07 brute force, but it hasnt come in yet. Just trying to get an idea of how it wires up. I put one on my uncles 360 prairie, and it was simple. Where on the brute do you put the solenoid? Thanks.

i have installed 2 winches on my 08 and my friends 06 brutes and it is very easy.
If you want you can connect it straight to the battery, red on red and black on black. The small box that comes wtih the winch i put it in the front of the atv, behind the radiator and under and little front the steering bar where is a lot of space and you can tie it firmly with anything you think it will hold..
From there it is easy for the wiring to go down to the winch,it is only 30-40 cm and up to the battery which is little longer.
You can cut in half the tube that the brute has for this reason on the left and next to the battery(the 08 only has it) and send down the cable for the winch and up to the battery. With this way you do not have to take of the tools from the space they are supposed to be.
Also you can wrap the "box" with a nylon bag and wrap it around with wiring tape to make it water proof. So far i do not have any problems...

Mudlift can i ask you a question? All these wires that i see on your photo are from the winch? And if yes why so many?Mine had 4,2 for the winch and 2 for the battery...
And a question for everyone,my winch is 2000 lbs and my friend's too but they are weak...
I read on the site of superwinch that for the winch to perform as it should and give out 2000 lbs it needs 100 amps battery,is it true?Because our battery is small, only 14 amps and if you do the math....
Any answers?

seems like a good spot to me. :peace: On my uncles, I put it inside the rear storage box, worked pretty good. Has anyone mounted it anywhere else? Mudlift- What did you do with your tool kit?

I have a 3000# WARN on mine. 2 go to the winch & 2 go to the battery.

I agree but what about the power of it?Does it perform as a 3000 lbs winch or it is weaker?
What do you see?
