SWBF900 might have that answer. He does a lot of trail maintenance for the forest service...and I think he just switched types.

I have tried two types, the latest is the Kolpin and I just couldn't find a decent place to mount it on my Brute racks, its 4sale.
The other was one I bought many many years ago and it worked great but I don't recall who made it or if it is even available anymore. It was just a sleeve about 5 inches long that the chain saw bar would slide into, this Sleeeve was welded to a flat bracket that you u-bolted to your rack, the chain saw would rest its weight on the rack, then there was a set-screw that went through the sleeve and tighten up against the chain saw bar, as long as the chain saw wasn't real heavy it worked great. Like a dummy. I let it go with one of my other Sold 4wheeler's, figuring I'd just buy another chain-saw mount and couldn't find it, so I bought the Kolpin.
I made my own for the 09BF but I will need to take a Pic of it to show you what I did, it is so easy to make and you don't need to have a Jr fuel pack mount eiither to make your own. Use some rubber to mount the supporting flat strap and place rubber on both sides of this support flat strap(the chain saw sits on top of this Flat metal strap), then a few bungle cords keep the chain saw tight, easy removal/easy remount.
I'll get a few Pic's posted later tonite and the chain saw is out of the way and you don't have to worry about the chainsaw mount failing and looseing your saw, like I have seen with the Kolpin.

I'm interested too...I don't carry my saw much but when I do, I usually just strap it too the front rack. If I had a good mount I'd get me one of those cheap lime green Poulan saws and keep it on there all the time. I looked at the Kolpin and wasn't sure about how it would mont either

I already was using a Jr Fuel pack bracket mount (L-shape), if you don't have a Jr Bracket mount then one can be made, with angle steel or even alum, it doesn't have to be strong, you are only making a Sleeve for the chain saw bar to slide through. Use high enough flat plate so it is higher than the bar on the saw, then use a couple of bolts mounted above the chain bar, to keep the chain saw bar in place (the chain saw will be tied down with bungles, the bolts above the bar act as a safety guide). You will need to make two L-shape sleeves if you don't already have a Jr bracket mount.
On my hard case and being it is a smaller rear trunk, I had to mount by Jr fuel pack bracket a little off of the side of the hard case, or I couldn't shut the lid w/o binding. This opening gave me a Sleeve for my chain saw bar. I didn't want my $600 saw sitting directly on the steel rack, so I mounted a Flat piece of Steel u-bolted to just one of the rear racks tubes, this Flat Steel strap is half as long as the handle on the chain saw, it is rubber mounted on both sides to cut down on vibration, the Chain saw sits on it, is tied down with two bungle cords, the chain saw bar cover is also held in place with the 3rd bungle. You could either rivet or bolt the bar cover to the sleeve to keep it in place but since I Don't carry my saw with me all of the time, I decided just to use the bungle Cord. When I don't need the saw along, then I just remove the Flat Steel strap as it is bolted on with one U-bolt.
I mounted it on the right side(gas tank) b/c I am right handed. I find it is easier to take the chain saw off or remount it in less than 30 seconds.
I also mounted a U-bolt in the upside position on the right rear setion of the rack as a guide for the Bar Bungle cord.(there are three factory drilled out holes already there, I used the rear two)
If you aren't using a Hard rear case, this can still be made with a soft case or a empty rack and mount the sleeve bracket to your best location for your needs or a different direction.
Always use a Chain Saw Cover for the Bar when transporting.

Well I bought the Kolpin Saw Press II today. The store I bought it from sell brutes and had them in the showroom, so I set the mounting bracket on the rack and it seems like it will work perfectly fine. I paid 90 bucks for the bracket which is a good deal from what ive seen around.
whats not a good deal however...they are asking 13,200 for a 2010 brute 750! Kinda funny

Visited my dealer yesterday and checked out the Brutes. The 10s are marked down to 7600 and they have an 09 650 marked down to 6300.

It blows my mind...the cdn and us dollar are pretty much par. My next one is comming out of oregon due to the lack of tax in that state, and i'll pay the 200 dollar fee to import it into canada.
My buddy just bought an 09 750 in vancouver for 9100 tax in which was worth the 3 hour drive for us to go pick it up
