Rear storage box help
Hey people!
Right now I have a bag which is rubbing off the paint on my rear rack so I want to replace it with a rigid box. Where I live there isnt many dealers for me to check out different brands so im most likely going to have to order one online. Im looking for just a box with a back rest. I dont want a seat or any audio ability. Anyone have a suggestion? Better yet can you post pics of what you have?
Thanks
Trever

This is my Kempex. I like it when I need to take a lot of stuff and the back rest is perfect. Lots of people used these. Kinda wish it wasn't so boxie, but they make one that follows the racks better. I have a smaller Tamarack too but its actualy a front box I use on back when not using this one.

Nice looking box! Do you have trouble getting the seat off and on with the box on the back?

No, I mounted so I just bearly can get it off so when I haul two, they stay in front of the rear axles. Also when I first mounted it farther back, it looked funkie...I thought. Here's couple of old shot of it mounted to the back of the rack.
Here one of the little box. No back rest, but one could be put on I guess.

Hey Kawie Not to hi jack thread but what size bolts did you use to secure front fender with rack off. I love that look and want to take mine off.

They are either an 8 or 10mm ...whatever the rack bolts are...silver... about an inch long with a shoulder I got from Lowe's. I put a nice silver washer on them then cut some fuel line in about 7/16" strips and slid them on up to the washer. When they tighten down, they flair-out to grip and fill the hole in the plastic...kinda like the screw anchers work on the side plastics. This way you don't squeeze the plastics between the bolt head and the frame. That could lead to cracking. I'll pull one and take a pic.

Could always paint the bolt heads. Here are those pics. It is an 8mm bolt with a 12mm head.
Sorry about that, I moved the pics after i posted I guess.

love the look of the box. I have the rear hang down basket but can't stand that it catches every drop of mud I sling. Nothing is spared. All is covered in mud when I get through riding even when trying to go easy.... May try to get me one and swap out for either riding or working...
