Default Warn 2.5 ci repair/rebuild

My warn needs some tlc. My question is simple. What kind of grease should I use on the planetarys and such, and is there anything that I need to know about before disassembly or reassembly? Hope someone here can answer these questions, So thanks in advance!

Josh

Lubaplate or white lithium or mairine wheel bearing greese works well. Just take your time and lay things out as you take it apart. They arn't too bad.

Talking Began the cleaning process!

Well, I disassembled the 2.5 ci, and found that their were no broken parts. Two out of 3 planetary sets had a couple of planets seized up, and lots of mud in the gear boxes, and inside the motor. After soaking the planetaries in a bucket of PB Blaster for a couple of days, the seized gears broke free, and spin very nicely. I have cleaned and recleaned all the gear sets, disasembled the motor, cleaned up the armature, brushes, and commutator. Next is careful reassembly, packing the gear boxes with lots of marine grease. I figure packing it with marine grease, will allow it to be more resistant to water and mud. Im also figuring that this complete clean and grease will probably be a yearly, or every other year, maintenance item. Just thought Id give you guys an update.:rocker:
