That sounds good. question answered. Glad it wasn't a puppy or something ... :lala:
Hay, ordered my seals today. Got two for the back and just one for the front. Looks like because the seals are flangeless, we will need a little seal puller to get them out...which is mostly a small screwdriver with the tip bent 90%+ and the shaft ground down enough to slip between the output shaft and outter casing to hook on the outer or inner lip. Then just squeeze on a vise grip and tap with a hammer. Have to do this all around because it will get cocked and stuck if you try all on one side...usually. Careful not to scratch the engine case. It could leak there. Oh, yeah, when putting the new one in, use a little RTV but also get a scocket or something big enough to just put pressure on the outter part of the seal casing. They have a special tool, but ...well, its not free..
It's going take to the 28th to get my seals here.

I did the screw trick and it worked ok. Them seals are just a hardcased rubber basically. I was expecting them to be more automotive style.. As for removing them with the screw, i did that on the back one, but the front didnt quite work so i popped some holes in it and then pulled it out with a flathead. Cleaned inside out and the outer edges, then put rtv around the outerrim of the new seal and slid it back in place. I just used a heavy made chissel and went around it bumping it here and there to keep it from binding up. Worked perfect. I dont really think there is any way to mess anything up besides the seals and they arent very stout. I also repacked my driveshafts b/c they was all nasty.
Oh and I dont believe you will get anything between the shaft and the seal. I didnt try to but it fits pretty tight. Plus it might bump it farther into the casing trying to get it to go. I may be wrong though. I do know it is tighter in there than i thought. I just layed under the back to do the back one and removed the middle belly skid to do the front.(It deffinately made it easier)

Very cool. And to think there are people out there that would pay a stealer to do just that. So, there not even a steel case? Hay...So, how did you get your seals so fast?
