Viper winch issues.
Today I had all 50 feet of my winch line ran out, when I started the pull everything was going fine untill i had about 30 feet or so of line still ran out.* When it reached that point it just sorta died and wouldnt pull anymore.* Does this mean I burnt the thing up?* Because I have no idea, it has never done this before.* Also I snapped my Amsteel Blue winch line, can this stuff be spliced back together or do I need to buy a new line?
Cheers.

Re: Viper winch issues.
I snapped mine too, spliced it together and it snapped again in a different spot.
You probably burned it up, take it apart and try to clean it out, it may just have stuff in it.

Re: Viper winch issues.
How did you splice it back together?* I'll try tinkering with it tomorrow if I can't fix it I'll send it back to viper It's still under warranty.

Re: Viper winch issues.
What about the synethic ropes for the winches? I ordered mine with the red 10,000 lb. test rope on it and have used it about 10 times with out the first problem yet? Mostly pulling out Honda's, Polaris and Suzuki's. But still had it in a hell-a-bind a few times. Does someone know somthing I don't about these? Seems like a good alternative to the steel wound cables. I broke a couple on my jeep several years ago but it was usually due to something I did like a kink or got it in a bind at a bad angle etc...
